Carnival 2017 for Pi Kappa Alpha

Spring Carnival at CMU is April 20-22, 2017.
We are planning a “Pi Kappa Alpha CMU Reunion”. It is a reunion for all the ages. For those in school in the 1960’s, it is a 50th reunion. Whether it 50 years (or more) from graduation, initiation or just your first day at CMU, it is a milestone for sure! For those in school in the 1970’s, it’s a 40th reunion for all the same milestones. We particularly want to celebrate these two milestones- 40 and 50 years.
Likewise, for those in school in the 1980’s it’s 30 years. Who would think those in school in the early 1990’s would be celebrating a silver 25th anniversary? The later 90’s are at 20. And who knew the first classes of the new millennium are at 15 years! Even the late 2000’s classes can be celebrating 10 years.
One thing is for sure, time does fly so don’t let this pass you by! The reunion is sponsored by the Beta Sigma Alumni Association (BSAA) and the current active brothers.

Friday - Pi Kappa Alpha Luncheon
We have reserved the Peter, Wright, and McKenna Room from 12pm - 2pm on the 2nd floor of the University Center. This is an informal lunch provided by the chapter, to allow for brothers and alumni to meet.
Friday - Pi Kappa Alpha Happy Hour and Dinner
We are planning to meet at Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh, Southside Works, 2705 South Water St., Pittsburgh, PA 15203. We will not have a reservation, but will plan to start arriving around 4pm to claim an area.
Saturday - BSAA/BSC Annual Meeting with Lunch
We have reserved Giant Eagle Auditorium in Baker Hall from 12pm - 3pm for another lunch. There will also be presentations by the Beta Sigma Alumni Association (BSAA) and the Beta Sigma Corporation (BSC), and it will serve as the annual meetings. All brothers and alumni are welcome.
Saturday - Pi Kappa Alpha CMU Reunion
We have reserved the Wyndham Pittsburgh University Center Hotel Ballroom from 7pm - midnight, to server as the Pi Kappa Alpha CMU Reunion. Dress is business casual - suggest gents wear jackets. The cost of the event is $50 per person, and includes a buffet dinner and the use of the ballroom - plus applicable tax and tip. There will be a cash bar. Guests are certainly welcome.
Please bring any memorabilia or pictures you would like to display. Slide show to be provided—bring some in electronic format if you want them projected (contact Jim Plymyer or Tom Wood for info).
We do need to know the count accurately and would appreciate pre-payment if possible. Send checks to the BSAA Treasurer, Jim Plymyer (see below). Checks should be made out to the Beta Sigma Alumni Association. Any round up on the check as a donation would be appreciated as well to help fund the other weekend activities.

This is the Saturday Reception Hotel and is within the shadow of the Cathedral of Learning- just north of it. It is 0.8 miles to the CMU campus.

A total of 15 rooms are in the block and appear to only include Queen Rooms.

This should work fine as some have used it (and changed the dates check out 4/23, etc.). If you have any trouble reserving, contact Amy Gabbard, Director of Sales at 412-586-2652.
The Residence Inn is just 0.7 miles north of the Wyndham hotel and 1.2 miles to CMU. Obviously it is a cheaper price plus should have free parking. Their meeting rooms are under renovation so having the reunion reception there was not a possibility. Other parts of the hotel may also be under renovation.
